Orange and Clemson Set for Sunday Match

Syracuse and Clemson will square off in an Atlantic Coast Conference volleyball match on Sunday, March 7th at 12 pm in the Women's Building (ACCNX). The Orange (4-6 overall, 4-6 ACC) lost to UNC on Friday night in a five-set match that ended with the Tar Heels winning the fifth set 18-16. Clemson (10-6, 4-5) beat North Carolina on Saturday, 3-2.
The Series vs. Clemson
The Orange have a 9-2 record in the series against Clemson and have won the last eight matches in a row. Syracuse is 5-1 in matches played in the Women's Building.
Last Time Out
In the five set loss to North Carolina, Syracuse won the first set 25-14 after jumping out to a 10-1 lead and maintaining control for the remainder of the set. North Carolina responded with a 25-18 win in the second set and a 25-21 victory in the third. In the fourth set, the Orange took an early 10-5 lead before UNC tied the match at 13. Then the Orange outscored the Tar Heels 12-6 to earn the fourth set win. The fifth set featured 11 ties, including a 16-16 deadlock before UNC scored the final two points of the match to secure the victory. Senior Yuliia Yastrub and junior Abby Casiano paced the Orange attack with 13 kills and junior Elena Karakasi had 43 assists. Defensively freshman Lauren Hogan had 24 digs and Yastrub and senior Ella Saada each recorded 18.
