Two Orange Players Earn Preseason All-ACC Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior Marina Markova and Senior Polina Shemanova were named to the 2021 ACC Volleyball Preseason All-ACC Team on Friday morning. They earned the honor alongside 16 other players across the ACC.
Shemanova has recorded 42 service aces, 56 assists, and 1022 kills before entering her senior season.
Markova has tallied a career total 200 kills across 476 attempts. She has notched 30 service aces in her two-year collegiate career.
Syracuse is ranked sixth in the 2021 ACC Volleyball Preseason Coaches Poll. The Orange received 127 points. Pittsburgh was picked number one overall with 13 first place votes, and Louisville resides at number two with two first place votes.
'Cuse opens its season Friday, August 27th with a home tournament. Syracuse's first match begins at 11 a.m. against Buffalo, followed up by a 7 p.m. match against Connecticut. Visit cuse.com/sports/womens-volleyball/schedule for full game details.
