SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Orange are back in the win column after taking down Duke on the road, 3-0. Syracuse (12-2 overall, 1-1 ACC) finished the match with 54 kills on 117 attacks with only 12 errors. Junior Marina Markova recorded a .556 hitting percentage, her second hitting percentage above .500 this season.

"We played really well across the board today," said head coach Leonid Yelin. "Nothing changed in the game plan, we just had an extra day's rest. Players were able to get healthy. We are excited to get home and sleep in our own beds again. I know the players are eager to perform in front of their friends and fans this coming weekend."

The Orange took set one 25-22, and then dominated set two, winning 25-18, and earning a .459 team hitting percentage. In set three, Duke took the lead for the first time in the match late in the set, but Syracuse mounted the comeback to win 27-25.

Of Note:

Junior Abby Casiano recorded a .421 hitting percentage.
Sophomore Lauren Hogan made her season debut, recording four assists and 13 digs.
Senior Polina Shemanova tallied 15 kills, 12 digs, and two block assists.

Up Next
Syracuse returns to the Women's Building for a pair of weekend matches. The Orange will host Wake Forest on October 1^st at 7 p.m. for their first home ACC match of the season and will play Virginia Tech on Sunday, October 3rd at 1 p.m. Both matches will be streamed on ACCNX.
