Orange Ranked #16 in Latest NFHCA Coaches Poll

After a 2-1 start to the 2021 season, Syracuse field hockey checks in at No. 16 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Coaches Poll this week. The Orange moved down two spots after a 2-1 overtime loss to now-ranked No. 23 Kent State on Saturday. Syracuse has a pair of top-15 road games coming up this weekend beginning Friday, Sept. 10 at No. 8 Rutgers at 2 p.m.
The Orange then travel to No. 12 UConn on Sunday, Sept. 12 for a 1 p.m. game. The back-to-back road games are the first against nationally ranked opponents for the Orange this season.
Syracuse has been ranked in every NFHCA Coaches Poll dating back to the 2008 preseason poll, when the Orange debuted at No. 18. Syracuse has been ranked in all but five polls, all during the 2007 season, in 15th year head coach Ange Bradley's tenure.
Syracuse will spend the remainder of the month on the road with trips to No. 3 Boston College to open ACC play on Sept. 17, Cornell (Sept. 22), and UPenn (Sept. 26) before returning home to host No. 4 North Carolina Oct. 1 at 4 p.m.
