Syracuse returns to the ice for a home-and-home series against RIT on Friday and Saturday. The Orange will host the Tigers at 7 p.m. on Friday, their first game back in Tennity Ice Pavilion since December 11th. Syracuse leads the series, 24-11-4, and won the first two meetings this season. Freshman Sarah Marchand scored the game-winner in overtime to give the Orange a 3-2 victory in the first game and seven different players scored in Syracuse's 7-0 victory at RIT in the second game.

'BATTLE AT THE BURGH' CHAMPIONS
The Orange (7-9-5 overall, 5-3-0-1 College Hockey America) won the 'Battle at the Burgh' with a 5-2 victory against St. Cloud State at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Pittsburgh, Pa. on January 2, which was the last time they played. Syracuse goalie Arielle DeSmet won the tournament Most Valuable Player award and was named to the all-tournament team along with teammates Shelby Calof, Jessica DiGirolamo and Abby Moloughney.

DeSmet recorded 63 saves in the two games and turned away all four shots in the shootout against Boston University in the semifinal game on Saturday. Moloughney scored three goals and had one assist in the tournament, while Calof tallied one goal and one assist, in addition to scoring a shoot-out goal in the first game on Saturday to propel the Orange to the championship game. DiGirolamo recorded three assists in the two games.

THE OPPONENT
RIT (0-21-2 overall, 0-7-1 CHA) recorded a tie and a loss against Penn State last weekend. The Tigers lost their first game against the Nittany Lions, 5-0, and finished with a 2-2 overtime result the following day.

TOP 20 SCORERS
Four current players rank in the top 20 on Syracuse's career scoring record list, including Abby Moloughney (seventh), Jessica DiGirolamo (eighth), Lauren Bellefontaine (15th) and Victoria Klimek (19th). Moloughney is tied for fifth on the career goals scored record list (39) and is eighth on the career assists record list (53) assists. DiGirolamo holds the SU record for goals and points by a defenseman (31 G / 87 P). Her 56 assists is sixth on the Orange career record list, and is second on the career record lists for assists by a defenseman.
