
Field Hockey Draws Princeton in First Round

INDIANAPOLIS – It will be a rematch for Syracuse University field hockey in the first round of the 2022 NCAA Field Hockey Tournament.
The No. 10 Orange (15-5) earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, drawing Ivy League Champion No. 7 Princeton (13-4) in the first round on Friday, Nov. 11.
Game time is set for a 2:30 p.m. start in College Park, Maryland as national three seed University of Maryland will host the first and second rounds of the Tournament at Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex.
"I am so excited and proud of this team to be selected to the NCAA postseason," said Syracuse field hockey head coach Ange Bradley. "We have overcome a tremendous amount of adversity and have grown to be a resilient, unified team. I believe in this team and now the fun begins: It's time to dance!"
The Orange and the Tigers will meet for a second time this season. The teams met back on September 9 in New Jersey, a 5-1 win for host Princeton.
No. 3 Maryland (17-3) will take on Liberty (12-7) at noon on Friday.The winners of the first round games will meet on Sunday, Nov. 13 at 1 p.m., also at the Terps' Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex.
Second-round winners will advance to Championship Weekend, hosted by University of Connecticut. Semifinals are scheduled for November 18 at either noon or 3 p.m. while the title match is set for 1:30 p.m. on ESPN on November 20.
