Orange Travel to Louisiana for Opening Weekend

The Syracuse softball season officially begins on Friday, Feb. 11 when the Orange head to Monroe, La., to compete in the Best on the Bayou Classic this weekend.

Syracuse will compete against five different non-conference opponents at this weekend's tournament. The first two matchups will take place on Friday, Feb. 11. The Orange take on Mississippi Valley State University at 1:30 pm and Southern University at 4:00 pm. On Saturday, Feb. 12 'Cuse will take on Morehead State at 11:00 am and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville at 4:00 pm. The Orange wrap up the weekend against Stephen F. Austin at 10:00 am on Sunday, Feb. 13.

ORANGE UPDATE

Two Orange return for their fifth year: Neli Casares-Maher and Paris Woods. Casares-Maher was named to the 2021 All-ACC Second Team.
Syracuse welcomes two transfers: Yamila Evans from Siena College and Ariana Adams from the University of Texas.
Head Coach Shannon Doepking enters her fourth season at the helm of the program.
Doepking added Katie McEachern and former Orange Sydney O'Hara to her coaching staff this season.

Friday Feb. 11: vs. Mississippi Valley at 1:30 pm.
Friday Feb. 11: vs. Southern at 4:00 pm.
Saturday Feb 12: vs. Morehead State at 11:00 am.
Saturday Feb. 12: vs. Southern Illinois Edwardsville at 4:00 pm.
Sunday Feb. 13: vs. Stephen F. Austin at 10:00 am.

The Orange ended the 2021 season 20-24 overall and 12-20 in the ACC.
