Orange Take on #6 Hokies

BLACKSBURG VA. – Syracuse (10-6, 1-2) continues ACC play this weekend with a three-game series against Virginia Tech (15-3) at Tech Softball Stadium.

The Orange will open the series on Friday, March 11^th at 6 pm, and the second game will take place on Saturday, March 12^th at 2 pm. Syracuse will end the weekend with a final matchup on Sunday, March 13^th at 2 pm.

ORANGE UPDATE

Syracuse (10-6 overall, 1-2 ACC) produced a 9-3 win against NC State last weekend but lost two of three games in the series.
In the Saturday victory, every starter reached base safely, and Syracuse out-hit NC State 14-7.
The Orange defense committed no errors in all three games over the weekend.
Junior Jude Padilla recorded 4 RBIs on Saturday to secure the 9-3 win over the Wolfpack.
Freshman Tessa Galipeau went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIS to lead the Orange in the final game of the weekend.
Pitcher Ariana Adams pitched 5.1 innings with 5 strikeouts in the first game of the series.
Fifth-year Neli Casares-Maher currently leads the Orange offense with the highest batting average of .426.

THE OPPONENT
Virginia Tech (15-3 overall, 3-0 ACC) and Syracuse have played against each other 26 times with the Orange leading the series 14-12. In the 2021 season, the Hokies swept a four-game series against the Orange. Virginia Tech opened ACC play last weekend, winning all three games in its series against Clemson.
