BALTIMORE MD.- Syracuse swept Coppin State in its double-header on Wednesday. The Orange won the first game 7-3 and the second game 13-3. Their record improved to 13-9 overall, 1-5 ACC after the two games today.

Freshmen Kelly Breen and Angie Ramos led the Orange offensively in both games. Breen had a hit and two RBIs in the first game and three hits and two RBIs in the second game. Ramos had two hits in both appearances.

GAME ONE
A trio of freshmen led the Orange at the plate in the first game. Catcher Laila Alves' RBI bunt scored the first run of the game in the top of the second. Coppin State responded with a run of their own from a solo shot to make the score 1-1.

Syracuse pushed three runs across in the third inning from a pair of singles, Breen responsible for two RBIs and Alves knocking in the third. Another three-run inning in the top of the seventh brought the Orange to a five- run lead before the Eagles added one in their final trip to the plate.

GAME TWO
Syracuse's loud third inning in game two gave them a 12-run advantage early. Angel Jasso led the way that inning, with two RBIs in her two trips to the plate. Neli Casares-Maher, Ramos, and Taylor Posner produced base hits throughout the rally.

Makena Fidler's single to left field in the top of the fifth inning added one more run for the Orange after the Eagles scored three in the bottom of the fourth. The five-inning game ended with a 13-3 final score.

OF NOTE

Three Orange freshmen had multi-hit games in the first game: Laila Avles, Ramos and Posner. Ramos also had a multi-hit game in the second.
Geana Torres returned to her first game back from injury in the first game and recorded her first hit of the season.
Syracuse runners managed four stolen bases in the first game.
The Orange outhit the Eagles 13-3 in the second game.

NEXT GAME
The Orange travel to Hempstead, N.Y. for a series of games against Hofstra and Iona.
