
Volleyball Earns USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award

Syracuse University is one of 215 NCAA Division I teams that earned the United States Marine Corps (USMC)/American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2021-22 season. In order to be recognized by the AVCA for the award, which began in the 1992-93 academic year, a team must maintain a year-long grade point average of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale. This marks the fourth-straight year and 12th time in program history that 'Cuse has been recognized for the Team Academic Award.
The Orange performed well in the classroom during the academic year with 11 student-athletes earning Syracuse Athletics Director's Honor Roll (3.0 GPA or higher) distinction for the fall semester and 10 received the recognition for the spring semester, including seven athletes with a 3.4 GPA or higher in the spring.
