How it Happened
- Hamilton scored her second collegiate goal in the eighth minute as she got a cross in from Clodagh Ferry on the right side for a tap in goal. Hamilton added to her career day, finishing a centering pass from Willemijn Boogert in the 20th minute for a 2-0 Syracuse lead.
- That score held through the next 10 minutes as Syracuse held its two-goal advantage, even with Dartmouth's shot from Altman.
- Late in the third quarter, Syracuse's venerable penalty corner found the back of the net as Boogert inserted the ball to a waiting van den Nieuwenhof, who took a blast from just inside the scoring area for a 3-0 Orange lead.
- Charlotte de Vries got on the board with four minutes to play, dribbling in a tight circle in the middle of the Big Green defense before hitting a soft back-hand chip for her ninth of the year.
- Van den Nieuwenhof got her second of the day on another penalty corner, this time inserted by SJ Quigley with Laura Graziosi on the stick stop. Van Den Nieuwenhof took a big shot that tipped off a defender's stick over the shoulder of the Big Green netminer Carlson.
- Less than two minutes later, van den Nieuwenhof took a huge shot from the top that was deflected in by Quirine Comans with 80 seconds left in the game to seal the 6-0 win for the home-standing Orange.
- Syracuse out-shot Dartmouth 26-1, putting 14 chances on net. It was a season-high in total shots for the Orange as Syracuse secured six goals for the third time this season.
- Hamilton registered a career-best two goals and points with four. Van den Nieuwenhof tallied her fourth career game with multiple goals while also tying a career high in points (5).
- Boogert notched a career-best two assists in the win while also tying a career high in points, scoring two for the sixth time in her Orange career.
- Borzymowski and Pert combined for the shutout, the sixth shutout for Syracuse this season.
- Syracuse improved to 8-2 all-time against Dartmouth as the teams met for the first time since 2009. Syracuse has two straight shutouts against the Big Green. It was the most goals scored by the Orange against Dartmouth in series history and the fifth shutout all-time.
- The Orange remain unbeaten at J.S. Coyne Stadium this season, improving to 3-0 and have allowed just one goal in that time.
- The Orange return home to Coyne on Friday, Sept. 30 as Syracuse resumes ACC action against Boston College, ranked 18th in this week's NFHCA Coaches' Poll.
- Game time is set for 4 p.m. and will be shown live on ACC Network Extra.
- Admission is free to all Syracuse field hockey home games.
