’Cuse Concludes Fall Season at UB Indoor Invite

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Syracuse women's tennis team finished its fall season at the UB Indoor Invite in Buffalo, N.Y. hosted by the University at Buffalo. The Orange faced Buffalo, Delaware, Niagara, and St. John's in a hidden dual match format.
The Orange went undefeated in doubles play, finishing the weekend with six wins. The pairing of Shiori Ito and Miyuka Kimoto took down Amat/Andresen of Buffalo, 6-0, and Vasilenko/Svendsen of Delaware, 6-1. The duo of Ines Fonte and Anastasia Sysoeva defeated both Schietekat/Kaur (Buffalo) and Vadlamudi/Dollens (Delaware), 6-1. Sysoeva and Kimoto paired up for a dominant performance over Gumerova/Bouzgarrou of St. John's, 6-0.
In singles action, 'Cuse won a total of eleven matches. Fonte, Kimoto and Polina Kozyreva each won two of two contests. Ito defeated all three of her opponents from Buffalo, Delaware, and St. John's. Sysoeva defeated her Delaware opponent, Dollens, 6-4, 6-2.
Syracuse tennis has now wrapped up fall competition, the start of its official season will begin in late January. The schedule is to be announced closer to the start of the season.
