Bert, McCabe Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University Volleyball Team had graduates Alyssa Bert and Lauren McCabe earn selections for the 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball Team.
The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance in the classroom and on the court. To earn the selection, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, and they must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher. For women's volleyball, student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the program's sets played or start in at least 66 percent of the institution's total matches.
Alyssa Bert was the starting libero for all 28 Orange matches in the 2023 season and played in all 89 sets. She was first on the squad with 261 total digs. Bert led Syracuse in reception percentage of those with at least 50 total attempts, sporting a .955 percentage on 425 attempts. She accrued a total of 27 service aces, which ranked second on the team.
Middle Blocker Lauren McCabe played in 88 sets of 89 sets in the 2023 season, starting in 21 of 28 matches. She was second on the team in total blocks this season, logging 39.0. McCabe logged 103 kills and accrued 128 total points on the season.
