SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Top five teams collide in the women's lacrosse season opener when No. 5 Syracuse hosts No. 4 Northwestern on Saturday, February 11 in the JMA Wireless Dome. Opening draw is set for 12 p.m. for the rematch of last year's NCAA Tournament quarterfinal.

Season and individual tickets are on sale now at Cuse.com/tickets. Fans are encouraged to stay after the game as the Orange will sign autographs in the concourse.

ORANGE IN SEASON OPENERS
Syracuse begins its 26th season of play when it takes on Northwestern. The Orange are 20-5 in season openers. Syracuse is opening at home for the eighth time in the last nine years. The Orange are 177-36 (.831) all-time in the JMA Wireless Dome.

TYRRELL MOVING UP THE CHARTS
Graduate student Meaghan Tyrrell has put her name near the top of several of Syracuse's all-time record lists. She enters her final season with 308 career points, which rank sixth on the school all-time record list. Katie Rowan '09 owns the record with 396 points. Her 202 career goals are seventh in program history. Emily Hawryschuk finished her career last season with a school-record 272. In addition, Tyrrell ranks fifth on the 'Cuse record list for career assists with 106. Rowan recorded a program-best 164 assists from 2006-09.

Tyrrell became the sixth player in program history to record 300 career points with her performance against Fairfield. She is also the seventh Syracuse player to score 200 goals in her career. Tyrrell is just the third player in program history to record 100 points in a season multiple times in her career.

THE SERIES
Saturday's game marks the 24th all-time meeting between Syracuse and Northwestern. The Wildcats lead the series with the Orange, 16-7. Northwestern makes its first visit to the JMA Wireless Dome since 2019. The Orange and Wildcats have met in the last three NCAA Tournaments.

The squads met twice last season, including the NCAA Tournament quarterfinal in Evanston. The Orange took the early lead on a goal by Tyrrell, but the Wildcats responded with four consecutive goals and went on to a 15-4 victory.
