Yellow Jackets Defeat Syracuse In ACC Tournament

No. 39 Syracuse tennis (11-10) lost, 4-0, to No. 20 Georgia Tech (14-8) in the 7/10 matchup in the second round of the 2023 ACC Tennis Championship on Thursday afternoon.
GT collared the first doubles victory of the day in the third flight, as Carol Lee / Rosie Garcia Gross defeated Polina Kozyreva / Miyuka Kimoto, 6-3. 'Cuse responded by taking the second pairing, 6-2, as Shiori Ito / Viktoriya Kanapatskaya bested Monika Dedaj / Kate Sharabura. Kylie Bilchev / Alejandra Cruz ultimately snuck past Ines Fonte / Zeynep Erman, 6-4, to swing the doubles point to Georgia Tech.
In singles play, Erman retired midway through the first set, giving the second point to GT's Lee. The Yellow Jackets clinched the match early on with victories in the second and fourth flights, respectively. Bilchev topped Kimoto, 6-1, 6-1 and Alejandra Cruz defeated Polina Kozyreva, 6-3, 6-0.
