Syracuse Loses Regular Season Finale Against Boston College

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Syracuse softball wrapped up the 2023 regular season with a 4-2 loss against Atlantic Coast Conference foe Boston College, dropping all three games in the series. The Orange tallied six hits in the defeat, a high across the three games against the Eagles.
Outfielder Angel Jasso led the Orange at the dish, logging her second consecutive multi-hit performance with a single and a double. In the Boston College series, Jasso went 5-10 in the batter's box, driving in a team-high three runs with one home run and one double.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED:
After a scoreless first inning, Boston College (24-28, 6-18 ACC) recorded three runs in the second inning, taking the early lead. With two runners on and two outs, outfielder Cali Case slipped a single between first and second base, recording the opening run. In the next at-bat, infielder Nicole Giery cleared the bases with a two-run RBI single, 3-0.Â
The Orange (23-25-1, 7-15-1) battled back in the fourth inning, scoring two runs. Outfielder Angie Ramos leadoff the inning with a single, hustling down the line to beat the throw to first. Syracuse scored its first run of the series finale in the next at-bat, as Jasso drilled a line drive RBI-double to right center, 3-1. Back-to-back wild pitches allowed Jasso to score, 3-2.Â
In the seventh inning, a solo home run from outfielder Hannah Slike past the right field wall extended the Boston College lead, 4-2.Â
Syracuse finished with two runs on six hits, committing just one error. Junior lefty Lindsey Hendrix tossed her eighth complete game of the season, allowing four runs on six hits while walking just two batters.Â
