De Vries, USWNT Capture Hockey5s Gold

KINGSTON, Jamaica – It's been a golden start to the summer for Charlotte de Vries, a four-time All-American for Syracuse University field hockey.
De Vries and the United States Women's National Team (USWNT) out-lasted Uruguay 3-1 in a challenge shootout to claim gold at the 2023 Hockey5s Pan American Cup (PAC) over the weekend.
Hailing from Malvern, Pennsylvania, de Vries scored to make it 3-1 at the end of the first half in the title game before leading off in the challenge shootout round for a 3-1 victory in the challenge portion. The championship game was deadlocked 5-5 at the end of regulation.
At the Pan American Cup, de Vries played in all seven games for the US side, helping the USWNT stay unbeaten while tallying six goals. The USWNT has secured qualification for the first-ever FIH Hockey5s World Cup.
