SYRACUSE, N.Y. – With report date three weeks away, Syracuse University field hockey head coach Lynn Farquhar, set to begin her first season at the helm, has announced Bo Madden as an incoming member of the program.
"Playing clever transition hockey and possessing solid distribution, Bo's style is simple yet incredibly effective," said Farquhar.
Bo Madden, who will be joined by her twin sister Hattie at Syracuse, brings a deep athletics background to the field in Central New York. Bo Madden competed at the England Hockey Tier I level at both Sedbergh School and Kirkham Grammar. In addition to field hockey, Bo Madden competed in athletics, netball, rounders, and cross country throughout her high school years.
A two-time club Player of the Year winner at the under-18 level, Bo Madden was also named Sportswoman of the Year in 2023. She was tapped as a team captain in her senior season as well.
Accolades for Bo Madden include first team honors in her conference from 2018-2023, an under-16 national championship in 2020-21, several top-10 finishes at the EH Tier I level for Sedbergh School. Bo Madden competed in the England Hockey Futures Cup in 2019 and 2021 as well.
Bo Madden ultimately elected Syracuse to play for Farquhar while earning a degree to explore new areas and topics.
The 2023 Syracuse field hockey schedule will be announced in the coming weeks. Please stay tuned to Cuse.com and the team's social media channels, @CuseFH on both Twitter and Instagram.
