The Orange return to the ice for the second half of the 2023-24 season at #5 Colgate on Tuesday, Jan. 9 (11:30 am, ESPN+). The game is the first of six in 12 days for Syracuse (4-14-2 overall, 1-6-1 College Hockey America) to start 2024. Colgate (17-3-1, 9-1 ECAC Hockey) kicked off the second half of its season winning three of four games, including the Battle at the Burgh tournament.

Syracuse will resume CHA play with a weekend series at Mercyhurst on Jan. 11 and 12 and play its final non-conference game against St. Lawrence on Jan. 16 at Tennity Ice Pavilion.

The team will host its annual 'Skate with the Orange' on Monday, January 15 from 1 to 3 pm at the Clinton Square Ice Rink. Fans of all ages are welcome to enjoy an afternoon on the ice, get a team poster to collect autographs, meet Syracuse Hall of Fame mascot Otto the Orange, and pick up free Syracuse Athletics giveaways.

- Syracuse ranks 22nd nationally and lead College Hockey America in penalty kill percentage (.818) and tied for 17th nationally and fifth in the CHA in power play goals (12). Syracuse has limited opponents to 14 goals on 76 power play attempts and has scored 12 goals on 63 attempts, which is a conversion percentage of .190 and ranks 18th nationally and is second in the CHA.
- Four Syracuse opponents are ranked in this week's USCHO Division I Women's Poll (1/8) that includes the top 15 teams, including #4 Clarkson, #5 Colgate, #8 Cornell and #10 St. Lawrence, and one is receiving votes, Penn State.
- Forward Marielle McHale moved into a tie for the fourth spot on Syracuse's career games played record list. She has skated in 151 games for the Orange. Former forward Victoria Klimek holds the Syracuse record with 164 games played.
- Former Orange defensemen Jessica DiGirolamo and Allie Munroe are playing for Boston and Toronto, respectively, in the new Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) that began its inaugural season on January 1, 2024. DiGirolamo, who served as the team captain in 2021-22 and co-captain in 2020-21, was a two-time CHA Best Defenseman Award winner, was named to the CHA All-Tournament time three times and earned All-CHA First Team honors twice. A two-time CHA Best Defenseman Award winner, Munroe earned All-CHA First Team honors as a sophomore and senior and was a second-team selection as a junior. In her rookie season she earned CHA All-Tournament team honors. Munroe was a co-captain as a senior and an assistant captain as a junior.
