SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse University women's ice hockey fell in a tight game 3-2 against Boston University on Saturday afternoon at Tennity Ice Pavilion.
The first Syracuse (2-7-0) goal came from Jackson Kinsler with an assist by Bryn Saarela and Tatum White. The Orange scored another goal by Maya D'Arcy with assists from Saarela and White, making it a one-goal game late in the third. Allie Kelley tallied 30 saves tonight.
Boston University (6-3-0) scored one power play goal from Sydney Healey fed by Christina Vote and Lindsay Bochna. Riley Walsh and Lola Reid each netted an even strength goal for Boston University. Mari Pietersen finished with 16 saves.
How it Happened
Two really good tight games against a very strong opponent. Yes, we would have liked to see a win this weekend but really happy with our play and really excited to see what that gives us in conference play. We believe we are far more prepared for conference play then we were last year.
When it comes to our offense, we are a team that needs to stick to the simple details of our game. Everything is worth points now so our focus needs to shift to making sure that we are grinding out every point possible. We don't expect this season to be easy in our league; there is no easy opponent, there is no easy game and that's something that we've already seen in this nonconference schedule.
