Seven Named to NFHCA Academic Squad

MANAHAWKIN, N.J. – Seven Syracuse University field hockey players were named to the NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad. The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced its 2023 squad Wednesday morning.
Willemijn Boogert, Brooke Borzymowski, Daisy Frank, Abby Neitch, Vivian Rowan, Lindsay Schiavone, and Sarah Smalley were among the 976 Division I student-athletes named to the 2023 Division I Academic Squad.
Boogert, Borzymowski, Frank, Neitch, Rowan, and Schiavone were all named to the 2022 Academic Squad. All juniors, Boogert, Borzymowski, Rowan, and Frank have earned Academic Squad honors each year they have been at Syracuse.
This prestigious acknowledgment is reserved for individuals who have achieved an outstanding cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher through the fall semester of the current academic year, nominated by their devoted NFHCA member coaches.
The NFHCA will announce its Scholars of Distinction on February 19, followed by the National Academic Team on February 21 and the National Scholar-Athlete on February 26.
