
Syracuse Hosts Colgate in Midweek Doubleheader

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse welcomes regional foe Colgate to Skytop Stadium for its first midweek doubleheader of the campaign. First pitch in the opening contest is scheduled for 2 p.m. Both games will broadcast on ACC Network Extra.

SERIES HISTORY:
Syracuse and Colgate have met 12 times in program history. The Orange have won eight of the meetings and are 6-2 at Skytop Stadium. Due to weather conditions, the scheduled contests in 2022 and 2023 were canceled. The team's last met on April 17, 2019, a 4-2 Raider victory in Hamilton, N.Y.
UP NEXT:
Syracuse heads on the road to play Seton Hall April 13-14 for the final non-conference road trip of the season. Saturday will feature a doubleheader with the opening contest starting at noon. Sunday's series finale is set for noon from South Orange, N.J. The games will broadcast on FloSports.

ORANGE UPDATE:
- Syracuse plays its first home non-conference game since April 28, 2022, when the Orange beat Niagara, 6-2. Syracuse played just three home out-of-league contests that season and are scheduled to play eight in 2024.
- Syracuse was swept by No. 17 Clemson during its weekend series at Skytop Stadium.
- Sophomore Madelyn Lopez went 5-for-7 with a solo home run and .800 on-base percentage across the three games.
- Freshman Makenzie Foster and junior Kelly Breen both recorded four hits in nine at-bats.
- Junior Laila Morales-Alves threw out a pair of runners, giving her 27 for her career. Morales-Alves is tied with Jenna Caira for the fourth-most caught stealing in program history.
- Senior Angel Jasso recorded a season-best five putouts in the outfield in the second game of Sunday's twin bill against Clemson, highlighted by a home run-saving catch to end the third inning.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT:
- Colgate enters the midweek contests with a 13-21 overall record and are 3-6 in the Patriot League. The Raiders were swept by Boston University over the weekend.
- Kiley Shelton paces the Colgate offense with a .327 batting average, 24 runs scored and five home runs. Rachel Carney is second in the Patriot League with 17 stolen bases.
- Maya Servedio leads the pitching staff with a 3.96 ERA. Servedio (83) and Bailey Misken (96.1) have thrown 179.1 of the team's 210 innings in 2024.
