
Seven Orange Earn All-Region Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Seven members of the Syracuse women's lacrosse team have earned IWLCA All-Northeast Region honors and are now eligible for selection to the 2024 IWLCA All-America teams.

Emma Tyrrell earned first-team honors for the third-straight year. She was joined on the first team by Olivia Adamson, Katie Goodale, Kate Mashewske and Emma Ward. In addition, Bianca Chevarie and Natalie Smith were second-team honorees.

Tyrrell leads the Orange in points (91) and goals (70) this season, recording career highs in both categories. She has scored five or more goals seven times this season, including both of Syracuse's NCAA Tournament games.

Adamson has also posted career highs in points (81), goals (57) and assists (24). She recorded four or more points in 12 games in 2024 and posted six points in five contests, including the Orange's victory against Stony Brook in the NCAA Tournament second round.

Goodale broke the single-season school record with 44 caused turnovers this season. She leads the ACC and ranks 10th in the nation in caused turnovers per game (2.32). Goodale also is fifth in the ACC in ground balls per game (2.11).

Mashewske, who is making her second appearance on the All-Region First Team, also set a single-season school record this season with 220 draw controls. In addition, she became the Orange's all-time leader in that category with 560. Mashewske ranks third nationally in draw controls per game (2.32).

Ward leads the Orange with 33 assists this season, which ranks sixth in the ACC. She also is third on the team in points (79) and tied for third in goals (42). Ward has recorded her 100th career goal, 100th career assist and 200th career point this season.

Chevarie has started every game this season on defense and has posted career highs in ground balls (39) and caused turnovers (27). She ranks seventh in the ACC in ground balls per game (1.95) and 10th in caused turnovers per game (1.30). Chevarie and the 'Cuse defense has held 11 of its opponents to less than 10 goals this season.

Smith has scored multiple goals in 13 games this season on her way to career highs in points (51) and goals (42). The midfielder also has 31 draw controls, which ranks third on the team. Â

Inside Lacrosse also announced its All-America team on Thursday, May 16. Goodale and Mashewske earned first-team accolades, while Tyrrell was a second-team selection. In addition, Adamson and Ward were honorable mention selections.

Syracuse will play in the national semifinals on Friday, May 24. The Orange face Boston College at 5:30 p.m. on ESPNU.
