
Kimoto, Kanapatskaya Finish in ITA Top 50

The final Division I women's tennis rankings were announced Wednesday afternoon by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) with Syracuse University well represented in the top 50.
Miyuka Kimoto was ranked 50th across Division I after advancing to the Round of 32 at the NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Individual Championships last week. Kimoto finished the 2023-24 season with a 17-11 overall record, including a 10-8 mark during the spring season.Â
Kimoto and her doubles partner, Viktoriya Kanapatskaya, were slotted 47th in the final rankings with a 5-4 mark together. The pair won the first set of its NCAA Division I Doubles Championship match by a 6-4 count, but dropped the next two frames.
As a team, Syracuse finished inside the top 75, earning the number 62 spot. The 2024 spring season was highlighted by a top-10 win over NC State, then ranked eighth in the country, with a 4-3 decision at Drumlins Country Club. The Orange added three more wins in the ever challenging ACC this spring, topping Boston College 5-2, Clemson 4-3, and sweeping Louisville 7-0 to conclude the regular season.
With the 2024 season at an end, the ACC will announce its All-Conference teams in the near future.
