
The Orange Dominate the Skyhawks in High-Scoring Win

BRIDGEWATER Mass. – The Syracuse women's ice hockey team completed the sweep over Stonehill with an 8-2 win Saturday afternoon at Bridgewater Ice Arena.
Syracuse (2-2-0) had its best offensive showing of the season, with seven different players finding the back of the net and eleven players with at least one assist. Peyton Armstrong led the charge with two goals and an assist to cap off the afternoon. Maïka Paquin started the game in goal and had 19 saves in three periods of play.
Stonehill (0-2-0) was able to tack a couple on in the third period, but were unable to climb out of the early hole. Goalie Alexsa Caron had 42 saves to finish the game.

How it Happened
- Stella Costabile opened the scoring in the first period at 4:54 and Rylee McLeod was able to find the back of the net minutes later at 10:17 to put Syracuse up 2-0 going into the second.
- The Orange capitalized on the power play with 7:39 in the second period. Emma Gnade notched her second goal of the weekend. Armstrong tallied her first goal of the day 30 seconds later.
- The scoring wouldn't stop there as Haley Trudeau was fed the puck from Mik Todd and Mia Ng and scored 15:03 into the second. Armstrong would score another goal 16:08 into the second to put Syracuse ahead 6-0.
- The Skyhawks chipped away, scoring twice in the third period.
- Syracuse scored two more goals one on a breakaway Jordan Blouin shot at 17:26 and another from Charlotte Hallet rebound score at 18:10 in the third.
Behind the Numbers
- This is the highest-scoring game for Cuse since the 2022-2023 season when they beat Post 10-0.
- The Orange outshot the Skyhawks 50-21 throughout the game.
- Gnade, Blouin, and Jackson Kinsler each had two assists for the game.
- Syracuse was 2-5 on power plays and did not allow a score in three power plays.

- The Orange return home next weekend for a two-game set against Quinnipiac Friday and Saturday. Puck drop is scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday at Tennity Ice Pavilion and the game will be streamed on FloHockey.
