DURHAM, N.C. – The Orange will take on No.19 Duke on Friday Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. for their first conference match on the road this season. The Blue Devils are currently undefeated at home, whereas Syracuse has shut out its opponents while on the road, holding a 2-0 record.

'Cuse Update
Two late Stanford goals put the No.8 Cardinal past the Orange 3-2 in Saturday (Sept. 19) night's conference opener at home.

Kristjan Fortier recorded his first goal of the season in the 10th minute, putting the Orange up on the board early. After entering the half tied, Chimere Omeze snuck through and netted the ball, putting Syracuse up 2-1 in the 75th minute of play to record his first career goal.
Stanford answered back in the 79th minute off a goal from Fletcher Bank. The Cardinal sealed the game once Trevor Islam fired a shot in the back of the net in the 84th minute.
The Orange were outshot by its opponent, recording 11 shots compared to Stanford's 13. The Orange are now 2-3-2 (0-1-0) overall.

Scouting the Blue Devils
Duke comes off a 1-1 draw with California (Sept. 14) on the road. Alessandro Arlotti scored the equalizing goal for the Blue Devils in the 84th minute. He was assisted by Drew Kerr and Kenan Hot. The goal marked Arlotti's first with Duke, but has accounted for 20 goals and 20 assists at his former school, Harvard, over four seasons.
Senior midfielder, Kenan Hot, leads the Blue Devils with two goals and two assists this season.
The Blue Devils were projected to end their season in fourth place according to the ACC pre-season poll. Duke stayed at the No. 19 spot in the United Soccer Coaches Poll from the week prior.
In 2024, Duke finished third in the ACC with a 5-2-1 conference record. The Blue Devils' season ended in the first round of the NCAA tournament after a 1-0 loss to San Diego.
