Associate head coach Lynn Farquhar will work with head coach Ange Bradley for the seventh consecutive year. She came to Syracuse with Bradley after spending two years on the Richmond Spiders staff with her. Together, Farquhar and Bradley led the Orange to three consecutive NCAA Tournament apperances, including a semifinal showing in 2008, back-to-back-to-back BIG EAST regular- season championships and a No. 1 ranking.
Farquhar has been involved with coaching, selecting and running the Regional North Futures site for the United States Field Hockey Association (USFHA). In 2010, she was involved with the Junior Oympics and Junior PA High Perfomance Team. In 2009, she helped coach the U19 Syracuse team and assisted with the High Performance satellite site at Syracuse. She helped lead the U19 Syracuse team to a bronze medal at the 2008 National Futures Championship. She also served as a USFHA coach for the 2008 and 2009 AAU Junior Olympic Games held in Detroit, Mich.
Farquhar has been part of one national championship squad, seven NCAA Tournament teams and six conference champion clubs during her coaching and playing career.
The Alexandria, Va. native helped lead the 17th-ranked Richmond Spiders to their fifth consecutive NCAA appearance in 2006. The Spiders beat Lock Haven, 4-2, in the NCAA Tournament play-in game before losing to eventual national champion Maryland in the first round. Richmond finished the season with a 17-5 record. The Spiders finished the 2005 season with a 16-6 record.
Farquhar, a 2005 graduate of Old Dominion, served as captain her senior year, and was named team MVP and second-team All-South Region following the season. Farquhar won a national championship with the Monarchs in 2000 and helped lead Old Dominion to five consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances (2000-05). She also earned National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Academic honors five times while at Old Dominion.
Prior to attending Old Dominion, Farquhar was a prep standout as she led West Potomac High School’s regional championship team her senior season.
