
Syracuse Loses To Cornell In Tennis

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse University women's tennis team lost to Cornell, 5-2, on Sunday, Feb. 24 at Drumlins Tennis Club. Syracuse is 4-3 this season, while Cornell is 5-1.
Syracuse won two singles matches against the Big Red. At No. 2 singles sophomore Daniela Kaluskova (Prague, Czech/Gym Budjovicka) defeated Laura Leigh Tallent, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4. At No. 3 singles junior Shervin Saedinia (Woodland Hills, CA/Calabasas) defeated Daniela DelPrete, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2.
Saedinia teamed with junior Masha Kabanova (Moscow, Russia/School #528) at No.1 doubles. The pair posted SU's lone doubles win, defeating Suzanne Wright and DelPrete, 8-5.
The Orangewomen's next match is at Yale on Saturday, March 1 at 10 a.m.
