
Fans' Guide to the 2002 NCAA Men's Basketball East Regional

The No. 2 seed Connecticut Huskies, frequent visitors to the Carrier Dome, will face 11th-seed Southern Illinois in the first semifinal at 7:38 p.m. on Friday. The other semifinal between Maryland, the No. 1 seed in the East, and fourth-seed Kentucky will tip-off 25 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.
All four teams will take part in an open practice on Thursday afternoon from Noon to 4:00 p.m. at the Carrier Dome. Admission is free and parking is free in the Dome lots.
Tickets
Long-range view tickets are available at the Carrier Dome Box Office. Tickets purchased in person at the Carrier Dome are $80. Tickets ordered by phone are $82. For more information, call the Carrier Dome Box Office at 1-888-366-3849.
Parking
Parking will be available at Skytop (on Syracuse University's South Campus complex) for $10 per day.
Directions to Skytop Parking Facility
From the North: (including Syracuse's Hancock Airport): Take I-81 South to exit 17. From there, take a right onto State Street and then a right at the light onto Colvin. Follow Colvin up the hill. To get to the Skytop parking area, bear right at the second light, past Manley Field House, onto Skytop Road. The parking area is approximately a 1 1/2 miles up Skytop Road.
From the South: Take I-81 North to exit 17. From exit 17, take a left at the stop sign and a right at the second light onto South Salina Street. From there, take a right onto Colvin and follow it up the hill. Follow the above directions "From the North."
From the East:Take the NY State Thruway to exit 36. Take I-81 South to exit 17 and follow the above directions "From the North."
From the West: Take the NY State Thruway to exit 39. Follow I-690 to I-81 and follow the above directions "From the North."
Transportation
Centro will provide free shuttle service from hotels in Carrier Circle (blue bus) and 7th North Street (orange bus) to Armory Square in downtown Syracuse every 30 minutes from 5:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Sunday shuttle will run two hours prior to tipoff.
Fans can ride OnTrack from Armory Square in downtown Syracuse to and from the Carrier Dome for $3 roundtrip.
