
Orangewomen Tennis Defeats Eastern Illinois

The win is the third straight for Syracuse and marks the team's longest winning streak since it opened the season 3-0. Freshman Kristine Bech Holte (Oslo, Norway/Fagerborg vgs.) continues to lead the team in victories (32) after winning two more matches.
Junior Shervin Saedinia (Woodland Hills, CA/Calabasas) won her fifth and sixth consecutive matches, giving her 99 career victories. She defeated Sarah Freeman, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 3 singles and teamed with Masha Kabanova (Moscow, Russia/School #528) to defeat Becky Carlson and Amber Lenfert 8-3 at No. 1 doubles. With her next win, Saedinia will become the 23rd Orangewoman in the 32-year history of the program to win 100 career matches.
The team finishes the regular season on the road with a match against Missouri on Saturday, April 13.
