SYRACUSE, NY -- Kueth Duany, the senior captain on last year's NCAA Championship men's basketball squad at Syracuse, has earned a roster spot with the Fayetteville Patriots of the National Basketball Development League (NBDL).
Duany is part of a 10-man squad coached by Jeff Capel. His teammates include former St. John's point guard Omar Cook, Donnell Knight from Arizona and Southern Illinois product Kent Williams. Sam Clancy, a former USC standout who spent last season on the Philadelphia 76ers injured list, is also on the team.
Duany averaged 11.0 points and 3.7 rebounds a game for the NCAA champions last winter. He completed his career ranked 42nd on the Syracuse scoring list with 1,084 points.
