
Men's Cross Country Finishes First at Binghamton, Women Finish Second

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Syracuse men’s cross country won its second consecutive race on Saturday with a team victory over Binghamton and Colgate in Binghamton, N.Y. The Orange had three runners finish in the top five. Sophomore David Wishart finished second with a time of 25:42, while senior Tim Scarpinato and junior John Graham finished third and fourth, respectively.
Sophomore Joey Ziminsky and freshman Matthew Gervasio rounded out SU’s top five with sixth- and eighth-place finishes.
The women’s team finished in second behind Binghamton. The Orange’s top finisher was freshman Kathleen Sanborn in fourth place with a time of 19:44. Sophomore Shelby Perkins came in sixth place with a time of 19:54. Junior Gabrielle Charbonneau finished eighth while sophomore Kelly Pimm finished in ninth place. Rounding out the women’s top five was sophomore Amanda Hicks in 14th place.
SU hosts the Orange Classic on Saturday, Sept. 25 at Drumlins Golf Course. The men are set to start at 10 a.m. and women are scheduled to get underway at 10:50 a.m.
