
Lipton Clinches 4-3 Victory Against UConn

Senior Trine Lise Juliussen defeated Whitney Simcik, 1-6, 6-0, 6-4, at No. 1 to tie the match, 3-3, and to set up Lipton's heroics. SU's other two points came at No. 4 singles where sophomore Wei-Ming Leong defeated Alison Adamski, 6-3, 6-2, and at No. 6 singles where senior Marion Charlier defeated Ashley Petruzzi, 6-2, 6-3.
In doubles, Juliussen and Leong defeated Simcik and Adamski, 8-6, at No. 1. Lipton and freshman Kendyl Severino lost to Barbara Schumsky and LoRusso, 8-1, at No. 2, and UConn clinched the point with a walkover win at No. 3.
Syracuse heads to Florida for three matches over spring break. The Orangewomen will take on Southern Illinois, Boston University and American.
