SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse tennis team won its fourth match of the dual season and third-straight with a sweep of Binghamton on Saturday, Feb. 12 at Drumlins Tennis Center. The Orange is now 4-1, 1-0 in the BIG EAST, this season.

SU won all six singles matches in straight-sets. Freshman Victoria Vaynberg defeated Zeynep Altinay, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. Freshman Catherine Zawadzki won against Jelena Koprivica at No. 2, 7-5, 6-2. Sophomore Ashley Lipton defeated Lya Kushnirovich, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 3, and sophomore Carolina Huignard defeated Jennifer Naegeli, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 4. Junior Wei-Ming Leong defeated Alyssa Freeman, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 5 and Pearly Leung, making her Orange debut, won at No. 6, 6-2, 6-1, against Gayathri Balasunder.

The Orange got on the board first winning the doubles point. Vaynberg and Zawadzki defeated Koprivica and Naegeli, 8-1, at No. 1. Leong and sophomore Katie Bramante defeated Altinay and Balasunder, 8-3, at No. 2. In the third match, Huignard and Lipton defeated Kushnirovich and Freeman, 8-3.

Syracuse hosts Brown on Sunday, February 13, at 11:00 a.m. at Drumlins Tennis Center.
