Women Finish Second; Men Fifth At Binghamton

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – Sophomore Elizabeth Cufari (18:38) finished second overall to pace the women’s cross country team to a second place finish out of eight teams on Saturday at the Binghamton Invitational. Junior David Wishart finished fifth overall on the men’s side as the Orange finished fifth out of eight teams.
Junior Matt Lawson (26:13) finished 21st in the field, while sophomore Kyle Heath (26:29) placed 26th. Junior Joseph Ziminsky (27:13) and sophomore Matthew Gervasio (27:25) rounded out the top five for the men.
The women placed six runners in the top 25. Following Cufari was freshman Nana Sang Bender (19:08) who finished 11th in her first collegiate race. Junior Shelby Perkins (19:24) finished just behind her in 13th, while sophomore Kathleen Sanborn (19:46) finished 16th. Junior Katie Simon (20:16) placed 20th in the race, while junior Candace Ince (20:22) placed 23rd.
