PHILADELPHIA – Former Orange men's soccer standout Pete Rowley joined the Philadelphia Kixx on Thursday, Nov. 12. Rowley was one of four additions announced yesterday by the two-time Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) champions.
Rowley most recently competed for the FC Reading Revolution of the National Premier Soccer League and the Charleston Battery of USL-1.
“He has good size, strength and speed, and I feel he has the potential to be a good indoor player once he learns the game,” player/coach Don D'Ambra said of Rowley.
Prior to joining the professional ranks, Rowley played for the Orange from 2004-08 and scored 27 points, including 11 goals. His most productive season was 2005 when he led Syracuse with 13 points and six goals.
In addition to Rowley, David Castellanos, Jeremy Ortiz and Leo Gibson also signed with the club which opens its 2009-10 season on Saturday in Mexico against La Raza de Monterrey. The Kixx play their first home game at the Liacouras Center on Jan. 9 versus the Rockford Rampage.
