All youth soccer players are invited to attend Dean Foti's Boys Soccer Camp. The camp will be held from July 12-16, 2009 at the Lampe Athletics Complex at the corner of E. Colvin Street and Comstock Avenue in Syracuse.
The camp is open to boys ages 10-18 and the cost is $520 for overnight campers and $395 for commuters. Also taking place during the four days will be the Junior Kickers Day Camp, designed especially for boys and girls ages 6-12. The Junior Kickers Camp will be held from Monday, July 13 – Thursday, July 16 from 9 a.m. to Noon. Cost of the Junior Kickers Camp is $125.
Campers will receive training and knowledge from some of the top high school, ODP and college coaches in the area as well as some of the nation's premiere collegiate and professional players. All campers will also receive a T-Shirt and hand-sewn soccer ball.
Syracuse University head coach Dean Foti and Cornell head coach Jaro Zawislan are the camp's directors. Foti, who is in his 19th year with the Orange, was the 1999 NSCAA Regional Coach of the Year and has served on the ODP staffs of New York State West and Maryland. He holds a master's degree in physical education from SU, a USSF "A" License and an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma.
Zawislan is in his first year with the Big Red after spending eight years as an assistant coach at Syracuse. Zawislan has coached in two NCAA College Cups as an assistant (with Stanford and Creighton) and started every game of his collegiate playing career as a goalkeeper for Clemson. He earned a master's degree from Creighton in 2001 and holds a USSF "B" License.
