Woodruff Named To 2009 All-BIG EAST Preseason Team

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Syracuse senior forward Hansen Woodruff has been selected to the 2009 All-BIG EAST Preseason Men's Soccer Team which was released on Wednesday, Aug. 12. Woodruff was elected to the 11-player squad in a vote by the league's 16 head coaches. It marks the second straight year he has earned a spot on the preseason all-conference team.

A 2008 second-team all-region and all-conference pick, Woodruff scored four goals and three assists despite missing four matches due to injury. Two of his four goals last season were game-winners, including a strike in overtime against Louisville in the season finale.

After three years, Woodruff currently lists fourth at SU in career goals per game (0.45) and career points per game (1.09).

Woodruff and his teammates open the 2009 campaign at Binghamton on Sept. 1 and they will play their first home match on Sept. 5 against Cornell.
