PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Syracuse's Hansen Woodruff was named to the first BIG EAST Honor Roll of the 2009 season on Monday, Sept. 7 for his performance in the team's first two games. Woodruff tallied three of the Orange's four goals in the two matches and leads the team with six points.
Woodruff matched his career high for points and goals, scoring both goals in the Orange's 2-1 against Cornell in the team's home opener on Sept. 5. He also had a goal in the second of half of the campaign starter at Binghamton on Sept. 1.
The three goals increased Woodruff's career goals total to 24. He is one shy of tying Jamie Shannon and Jeff Knittel for 10th on the school's all-time list. Woodruff currently has 57 career points, six behind Eric Puls for 10th on that career record list.
Woodruff and the Orange are back in action tonight against Colgate. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Van Doren Field in Hamilton.
