SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The Orange's Jeremy Vuolo was named to the Lowe's Senior All-America First Team during the 2010 NCAA Men's College Cup on Friday, Dec. 10. Vuolo was one of 10 seniors nationwide selected as finalists for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award for men's soccer, and the All-America teams were based on the voting results of the finalists.
Akron midfielder Anthony Ampaipitakwong was selected as the award winner by a national panel of coaches, media, and fans.
An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition.
Vuolo was the BIG EAST leader in saves (79) during the regular season. He also posted three shutouts and helped the Orange to four clean sheets in 2010. The 2009 MAC Goalkeeper of the Year, Vuolo spent his first three seasons at Hartwick College and finished his collegiate career with 283 saves and 21 shutouts.

While at Hartwick, Vuolo formed the school's Fellowship of Christian Athletes subdivision. Under his direction, the group organized several community service events, including the first annual “Hartwick Hill Race” to benefit the Family Resource Network. The event raised more than $3,500 to assist special needs children.
