SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Freshman Carmen Tyson-Thomas (Philadelphia, Pa.) and senior Tyson Bry (Woodstock, Vt.) have been named the Syracuse University Scholar-Athletes of the Week for the week of March 22, 2010.
Tyson-Thomas is a guard on the women's basketball team. She was named to the BIG EAST All-Freshman team, averaging 5.7 points per game and ranking second on the team with 5.3 rebounds. She registered her second career double-double with a career-best 17 points and 13 rebounds in Syracuse's WNIT win against Harvard.
Tyson-Thomas is a child and family studies major in the College of Human Ecology. The women's basketball team hosts Richmond at Manley Field House in the WNIT Second Round on Monday, March 22 at 7 p.m.
Bry is a member of the varsity eight. He sat in the two seat of the varsity eight boat throughout the 2008-09 season.
Bry is an environmental engineering major in the L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science. The men's crew team travels to California for the San Diego Crew Classic beginning Saturday, March 27.
