Women’s Crew in Ithaca for a Two Days of Racing on Cayuga Lake

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Syracuse University women's rowing team returns to the water this weekend in Ithaca when it renews acquaintances with Cornell and top-ranked Yale on Friday, April 2. The varsity eight of all three teams will battle for the Cayuga Cup for the eighth consecutive season beginning at 3 p.m. Yale has won the cup every year, with the Orange finishing second in 2009, 2007 and 2005.
The Orange will also compete in the second varsity eight, third varsity eight and varsity four A and B races on Friday.
On Saturday, Syracuse will race against No. 7 Michigan State, Gonzaga, Buffalo and Columbia in 10 separate races.
SU is receiving one vote in the latest USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association NCAA Division I Coaches poll. The Orange varsity eight defeated Boston University last time out. SU captured its fourth Kittell Cup with the victory.
