It was a chance to relive old memories and create some new ones as several Orange men's soccer alums gathered in Syracuse for Alumni Weekend. More than 40 participants took part in the Orange Open at Lafayette Hills Golf & Country Club on Saturday, May 1 and approximately 30 current and former players competed in the annual Alumni Game that morning at the SU Soccer Stadium.
Those in attendance enjoyed seeing old friends and making new ones through the common connection of Syracuse soccer.
Congratulations to the team of Don Swete, Greg Cunningham, Kevin Cooper and Fritz Kraus for winning the golf tournament.
The weekend also marked the end of the Orange's spring season and served as the final soccer sendoff for the members of this year's senior class, who each received a senior plaque commemorating their collegiate career.
Another Orange soccer alumni event is fast approaching. Syracuse will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its BIG EAST Championship this fall. The recognition will take place on Sept. 25 when Syracuse hosts Pittsburgh.
