Colvin St. Elite Meeting Aug. 30
8/9/2010 6:56:28 PM | Men's Soccer
A meeting for the members of Colvin Street Elite (CSE), the official men's soccer student fan club, has been scheduled for Monday, Aug. 30 at 5:30 p.m. in the SU Soccer Stadium. The meeting is open to all Syracuse University students with a passion for Orange soccer.
The purpose of the meeting is to organize activities for the student spirit group, which is in its second season. Free pizza and wings will be provided as well complimentary posters and other giveaways. Member of the team will also stop by for a meet and greet session.
CSE formed last season and was featured on ESPNU's “Campus Connection” program. With the help of the group, Syracuse set an SU Soccer Stadium average attendance record of 908 fans per game for its nine 2009 home matches, including four crowds of at least 1,000.
Interested students can join CSE by visiting the men's soccer page on SUathletics.com and filling out the short questionnaire. Additional questions regarding CSE or the organizational meeting should be directed to SU assistant coach Mike Miller at mbmill04@syr.edu
The Orange begins preseason training on Monday, Aug. 16 and opens the regular season at the SU Soccer Stadium against Siena on Wednesday, Sept. 1. Syracuse will play 17 matches in 2010, including seven at home. Admission for all Orange home games is free.
