PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Syracuse junior forward Louis Clark was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, Oct. 24 for his performance against Cincinnati this past Saturday. Clark recorded a career-best six points on two goals and two assists to lead the Orange to its first conference win of the season.
The Brighton, England native had a hand in all four SU goals against the Bearcats. Clark scored the first goal in the 47th minute and tallied the team's last goal in the 77th minute. In between, he recorded helpers on goals by freshman Grant Chong and junior Lars Muller. Clark's six points were the most by an SU player since Spencer Schomaker had six (three goals) on Oct. 21, 2008.
For the season, Clark has played in 10 matches with nine starts. He leads the team in scoring with 14 points (six goals, two assists) and he's tied for eighth in the BIG EAST in both points and goals.
Clark, who earned his first career BIG EAST honor, is the second SU player to receive BIG EAST accolades this season. Senior goalkeeper Phil Boerger was named the conference's goalkeeper of the week on Monday Oct. 10 for his effort against Louisville.
Syracuse is back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 26 for its last home game of the regular season against Villanova. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium.
