SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Former Orange goalkeeper Jeremy Vuolo has signed a one-year contract with top tier Finnish club, AC Oulu. Terms of the contract were not released, but it includes an option for a second year. AC Oulu competes in Finland's premier league – the Veikkausliiga.
Vuolo has started the team's first four preseason matches, and the club won a tournament the weekend of Feb. 12-13. The tournament's final game came down to penalty kicks, and Vuolo played a key role, turning aside one of the opposing team's attempts.
Vuolo played one season at Syracuse after transferring from Hartwick College. In 69 games between the two schools, Vuolo recorded a 1.07 goals-against average and notched 21 shutouts, including three for the Orange in 2010.
AC Oulu begins its regular-season schedule in April.
