Orange to Battle Pirates in Weekend Series

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Syracuse returns to BIG EAST action this weekend with a three-game series at Seton Hall. The squads will face off in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 30, with game one's first pitch set for 12 p.m. The series will conclude on Sunday, May 1, with a single game scheduled for noon.
Syracuse Notes
• Syracuse is currently 33-11 overall and 9-5 in the BIG EAST
• The Orange has eight players batting above .300
• The Orange is already 3-0 on the week. SU swept a doubleheader against Binghamton on Thursday, and recorded a 9-0 walk-off mercy rule victory versus Georgetown on Tuesday.
• Lisaira Daniels, one of just two players to have started every game this season, is hitting .353 and leads the team in runs (38), hits (53), triples (4), and stolen bases (21).
• Stephanie Watts and Lacey Kohl are tied with a team-best 10 homeruns. Watts is just one away from tying her career total.
• Jenna Caira recorded all three wins in the circle for the Orange this week. The ace is now 24-9 on the season, giving her a lock on both SU's single season win record and the program's career best performance with 59 total wins so far.
Scouting Seton Hall
• Having lost four of its last six games, Seton Hall enters this weekend's series with a 15-29 overall record and a 3-16 mark in the BIG EAST.
• In the Pirates' most recent conference action, the squad dropped a pair of games at DePaul, but took two-out-of-three at Georgetown.
• Senior Brittany Schillizzi was named to BIG EAST Player of the Week after batting .600 (6-for-10) with a pair of home runs and six RBI, becoming the first Pirate to earn this honor since 2005.
• Senior Michelle Reed is just two stolen bases shy of breaking Seton Hall's career record. She is currently second in the record book with 64 steals.
• After hosting SU, Seton Hall will close out the 2011 season with a pair of non-conference doubleheaders.
