Guard Tasha Harris is Syracuse's all-time leader in games played (133) and games started (132). She also ranks in the top 10 on six other career lists, including second in assists with 536. The Bronx, N.Y. native finished her senior year seventh in the BIG EAST in assists and 10th in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.4). During her career with Syracuse she made four postseason appearances, three in the WNIT and one in the NCAA Tournament, her freshman year. Harris led the team with 4.1 assists per game, while averaging 4.0 points and 2.0 rebounds per contest.
Harris was first on the team with 126 assists her junior year. Against VCU in the WNIT, she gained a team-best five assists in a season-high tying 32 minutes. It was at Providence where Harris missed the first game of her career due to an ankle injury. In Syracuse's game against South Florida, Harris shot 5-of-9 from the field, including 3-of-9 from 3-point range en route to a career-high 13 points.
As a sophomore, Harris led the squad with 4.6 assists per game and finished fifth in the BIG EAST with a 1.6 assist-to-turnover ratio. Facing off against Canisius in the WNIT, she set a career high with six rebounds and tied a then career-high with 10 points behind a 4-for-7 performance. Against South Florida, Harris matched a season-high with eight assists and tied a season best with two 3-pointers in a season-high 35 minutes of play. Harris often led the team in assists, doing so against West Virginia (5), Villanova (5), Cincinnati (6), Rutgers (6), Princeton (6) and St. Bonaventure (5).
In her first year with the program, Harris was selected to the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team. She was first on the team and 11th in the BIG EAST with 3.9 assists per game. Against Hartford in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, Harris dished out five assists and posted five points. Also during her freshman year, Harris had a career-high 11 assists in a game at Seton Hall. Against Maryland Eastern Shore, she made a career-high five steals and added four points and three assists.
Before enrolling at Syracuse, Harris was named First-team All-Manhattan by the Daily News in 2007. She amassed more than 1,000 points during her four-year career at St. Michael Academy. Her senior year of high school, Harris averaged 20 points, five rebounds, seven assists and three steals and was named the team MVP. Harris also averaged 18 points, seven assists, five rebounds and four steals while leading St. Michael Academy to the Manhattan Girls Catholic League Championship in 2005-06.
