SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Incoming Syracuse men's soccer freshman midfielder Nick Perea is set to compete at the USSF Academy Finals in Milwaukee, Wis. beginning on July 9.

Perea is a member of Weston FC, which qualified for the finals by winning its playoff group with a 2-0-1 record, including a 3-1 victory against the Michigan Wolves. Weston is one of eight clubs to reach the finals. It will compete in a group featuring the Baltimore Bays, CASL of North Carolina and FC Dallas.

A high school standout at Nova Southeastern's University School, Perea led the Suns to the 2011 Class 3A state championship and received all-county honors from the Miami Herald and Sun Sentinel.
