Wheddon Featured on Weekend Radio Show

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Orange head women's soccer coach Phil Wheddon will be profiled on The Score 1260AM in Syracuse this weekend. Wheddon will be featured on the Wake Up Call With Dan Tortora on Saturday and Sunday. The show airs from 7 - 9 a.m. both days.
Wheddon will discuss his vison for the Syracuse program and his coaching philosophy on Tortora's "Art of Leadership" segment. Wheddon enters his fourth season at the helm of the women's soccer program after serving on the coaching staff for both the U.S. men's and women's national teams.
Last season, Wheddon guided the Orange to its most wins since the 2007 season. The Orange also recorded its best start in BIG EAST play. Syracuse finished in a tie for sixth place in the American Division, just two points shy of a top-five finish which would have given the Orange a berth in the BIG EAST Tournament.
The Orange opens the 2011 campaign on Friday, Aug. 19 when it takes on Robert Morris at the Embassy Suites Kick Off Classic in Fort Myers, Fla. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
